The NEXT LEVEL Individual Development Account Program helps participants invest in their future.  The program offers new opportunities for those who hope to open doors to a new life by progressing towards financial self-sufficiency.

Next Level IDA Program allows the Community Action Association of Alabama to continue its more than 40 year commitment to make a real impact on the lives of Alabamians.  The program provides an opportunity for people to build wealth through investments that can make lasting changes to their own economic status and to that of generations to come.

The Community Action Association of Alabama and its member agencies will partner directly with low income and "working poor" Alabama residents to assist them as they embark on a new path of opportunity to break the chains of poverty and rise to the NEXT LEVEL...Financial Independence.

What is an IDA?

An Individual Development Account (IDA) is an innovative approach to community development that utilizes a specially matched savings account to save money for a specific purpose such as to help purchase a home, access post-secondary education opportunities or to establish or expand new business opportunities.

Community Action Association of Alabama will dedicate a $2 match for every $1 saved in the special savings account by the NEXT LEVEL program participants.  Additionally, all participants will be provided with a comprehensive program of financial literacy and asset acquisition education to support their more permanent transition toward independence and self sufficiency. 

Eligibility Requirements

Participants must be Alabama residents who are 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.  One half of the NEXT LEVEL program participants will be individuals directly impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
