The Personnel Committee of the Board of Directors of the Community Action Association of Alabama (CAAA) invites highly qualified applicants to submit a formal letter of application, professional resume and professional references for consideration as the next Executive Director of the Community Action Association of Alabama. We are seeking an individual with a proven history in organizational management, a deep passion for our anti-poverty mission, and a desire to create social change to provide leadership to the organization. The Association provides training and technical assistance, coordination of services, and advocacy for its twenty member agencies. The Executive Director will lead CAAA’s overall management including management of finances and supervision of CAAA staff.
Successful candidates must display a familiarity and commitment for the work of the Community Action Network and a working knowledge of programs serving low-income and marginalized populations. The ability to advocate for vulnerable populations at local, State and Federal levels is one of the key functions of this position. Candidates must demonstrate sound business and leadership practices, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively interact with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups.
Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to work with minimum of guidance, possess knowledge of state and federal government operations, and an understanding of the causes and effects of poverty.
