CAAA & BAR Joint Conference Kickoff

The first day of the 2026 Community Action Association of Alabama (CAAA) & Building Alabama Reinvestment (BAR) Joint Conference sets the stage for a dynamic week of learning, networking, and community impact. Hosted at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham – The Wynfrey Hotel, Day 1 focuses on leadership, financial stewardship, and strategies to strengthen communities.

Morning Highlights

– Pre-Conference Registration (8:00–8:30 AM) – Opening and Welcome (8:45–9:00 AM) – General Session (9:00–10:00 AM) – Networking Break (10:00–10:30 AM)

Midday Focus

– Breakout Session I (10:30 AM–12:00 PM) Participants choose between two tracks: Track A: Board Governance & Financial Stewardship Track B: Strengthening Communities Through Housing Partnerships – Lunch (12:00–1:00 PM)

Afternoon Learning

– Breakout Session II (1:00–2:30 PM) Dive deeper into organizational excellence with these tracks: Track A: Financial Systems That Strengthen Nonprofit Organizations Track B: Strengthening Nonprofits Through Practical Technology and Systems – Networking Break (2:30–3:00 PM) – General Session: From Community Voice to Policy Action (3:00–4:30 PM) – Closing Reflections (4:30–4:45 PM)

On-Site Certifications & Family-Centered Coaching (FCC) Training

As part of the 2026 CAAA & BAR Joint Conference, attendees have the unique opportunity to participate in in-person Family-Centered Coaching (FCC) Training and Certification. This specialized program provides practical tools and strategies designed to enhance service delivery, strengthen relationships with families, and support positive community outcomes. The FCC training is offered as a focused, hands-on experience, including both the Toolkit Course and Mindset Course, enabling participants to develop a comprehensive understanding of family-centered approaches. Individuals who complete the in-person training components during the conference will be eligible to pursue FCC certification, equipping them with nationally recognized skills to drive meaningful change in their organizations and communities.
