Congratulations to SEACAP for ARCH Grant Award

The Southeast Alabama Community Action Partnership (SEACAP) is proud to announce its recent achievement of being awarded a significant grant from the Alabama Rural Coalition for the Homeless (ARCH). Karinne Simmons, Executive Director, Southeast Alabama Community Action Partnership, shared the details of this momentous development, marking a pivotal milestone in the agency’s efforts to address homelessness in the region.

This groundbreaking grant totals $31,027.00 and stands as a testament to SEACAP’s unwavering commitment to serving its community. Significantly, this recognition marks SEACAP as a pioneering agency for addressing homelessness and building stronger community-based partnerships. The ARCH grant, which holds affiliation with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will help increase resources and support for the homeless population.

“We are thrilled to receive this grant from ARCH in collaboration with SEACAP, acknowledging our dedication to combating homelessness,” expressed Simmons. “This grant signifies a vital opportunity for us to extend our outreach and make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness within our community.”

The allocated funds will be strategically utilized, with a substantial portion designated to provide essential support through hotel vouchers for the homeless population. SEACAP aims to maximize the impact of these resources, ensuring direct assistance and immediate relief to those in dire need.

However, as a requirement of the grant, SEACAP is mandated to provide a matching contribution of 25% of specific portions of the grant. This obligation demonstrates SEACAP’s commitment to leveraging external funding with local resources, amplifying the effectiveness of the assistance provided to address homelessness comprehensively.

“We recognize the responsibility that comes with this grant and are dedicated to utilizing these funds efficiently and effectively,” emphasized Simmons. “The collaboration between SEACAP and ARCH exemplifies our shared goal of fostering a more supportive and compassionate community.”

The grant’s focus on aiding the homeless community aligns seamlessly with SEACAP’s mission of empowering individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency while addressing critical societal issues.

SEACAP expresses sincere gratitude to ARCH for their trust and support, acknowledging the invaluable partnership that has enabled this significant milestone in their ongoing endeavors.
