The Community Action Association of Alabama envisions a strong, committed partnership of Community Action Agencies in Alabama empowered to produce measurable outcomes and results eliminating poverty.
Recently, the Community Action network had a moment to be proud of! During last week’s Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education – Public Witness Day hearing, Jennifer Carroll, Assistant Director at the Community Action Partnership of North Alabama, gave a phenomenal testimony on the vital importance of the Head Start program.
Â
Jennifer, under the leadership of CEO Tim Thrasher, spoke with grace, strength, and passion—a true reflection of what Community Action stands for. Her words moved many, including Rep. Rosa DeLauro, whose response echoed the deep respect and appreciation for the work we do every day to uplift children, families, and communities.

Let’s celebrate this incredible moment together and continue to raise our voices for the change we know is possible. Thank you, Jennifer, for representing us so powerfully.Â
