HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Over 200 Huntsville Utilities customers are bracing for an unexpected increase in their next utility bill. A grant that previously provided $100 in assistance to 255 customers has been deemed “no longer valid due to President Trump’s Executive Order to rescind the funding behind the grant.”
Mastin, a spokesperson for Huntsville Utilities, emphasized:
“We have been assured by vendors that no one will face disconnection of services due to this grant pause. We will continue to provide essential services to support our community and assist those in need. Clients with additional questions or concerns are encouraged to contact our agency at 256-851-9800.”
Huntsville Utilities has reached out directly to impacted customers, providing a detailed notice regarding this change.
